Who is the founder? Kathy
We Belong . Life was created by Kathy Breidenbach, a multi award winning NHS wellbeing Peer Coach. The project came about as a result of growing up in a very 'troubled' family environment. We Belong. Life is a social project that brings people together to practice having better relationships with themselves and others, in a safely held space where all emotions are welcome.
There are so many people who have suffered all manner of challenges and who feel disconnected, and like they don't belong. We co create a caring space of love and belonging. As loneliness is a silent epidemic that is literally killing us silently. Kathy wanted to take action and offer experiences where the spectrum of platonic touch could be safely explored with boundaries and consent to help people improve their wellbeing naturally.
If you have ever experienced any form of physical violence, sometimes the only way to heal is to have those areas gently caressed and comforted. Embrace Therapy is a very powerful healing modality that is our first love language, the language of platonic touch. We go back to our primary need for connection, love and belonging.
At 13 years of age Kathy was taken into foster care for the second time. During this 18 month period Kathy was cuddles, loved, fed properly, nourished, listened to, cared about and really welcomed into the world, in a way that she had never experienced before. In this time period, Kathy grew a foot, or 30 cm in height. The healing effects of hugs saved Kathy's life, as the foster family saved Kathy from the world of hurt she was experiencing in her family of origin.
Kathy lovingly prepares each workshop as a total immersion experience to help you drop out of your mind and back into your body. We Belong . Life uses state of the art sensory experiences to help you find a deep relaxation within yourself. There are many levels of healing that are thoughtfully created by Kathy to make each workshop a magical and hopefully life changing experiences.
Kathy has been told on a number of occasions that her work has saved people's lives and they did not fully realise how lonely they were, until they had their platonic touch needs met with caring consensual hugs, cuddles and Embrace Therapy.
As Kathy loves to bake cakes she makes cakes for the tea break in the middle of the session, so people can relax and feel really cosy and loved.

Kathy is a warm, caring soul that just wants to put some more love in the world. By attending the workshops you will be able to find a restorative space within yourself. These carefully planned events are co-created to help everyone land in a space that we all build together. The participants all have a voice and are encouraged to use it to ask for what the want. Those voices are heard, listened to and their feedback is utilised to bring about a more positive experience for future participants.
This community project was brought about after some 8 years in thought creation and has been running as a Community Interest Company since April 2022. Kathy would only run events from a fully accessible building so that everyone can feel welceom in the space.
Kathy has very imaginatively put together a range of ticket prices from free female helper tickets (and those who identify as female) to a donation ticket where you can pay what you can comfortably afford. The standard ticket prices starting at £10. £15. £25. £35. £45 and £55.00. The people who can contribute by purchasing the higher value tickets support the people who are less able to pay. Kathy wants to make the workshops fully accessible and as healing as possible. We have previously never seen so many ticket price options and we hope that Kathy's kind hearted price points become the norm.
What is really amazing about the sessions is that there are usually around 60% of people who have been before and 40% of newcomers. This adds to the exciting and dynamic mix of people who co - create the events together. Boundary work is really important to Kathy as she had to learn boundaries from their foundations. This means that people feel safe and protected at all times as they get to practice saying 'no' before they practice saying 'yes'. You can sit in or out, it is your choice. Never any pressure to touch or be touched. Together we are changing the world one hug and one cuddle at at time! Thank you.
